I’ve never been to East Asia but I’m planning on traveling to Korea next year. I live in a large city in the US and am not unfamiliar with the constraints of many people in a small space. I quite enjoy running but treadmills don’t really have the same joy for me as feeling the wind in my face as I explore the city that I’m running in.
I know Seoul has quite a few residential areas with biking paths and whatnot which I plan to use but I won’t necessarily always be in Seoul or on those paths. I hate to be boorish or make someone’s already stressful work day any worse so I’m just curious if it would be seen as bothersome and me as the ‘ugly American’ to just run down the street/sidewalks. I’m not about to go running during the commute or without giving the right of way to locals trying to get places but just to see the city that I am in while getting some exercise.
I am aware of the temperatures and dust/smog and am prepared for that eventuality. Thank you and sorry if this isn’t the right place to post!
