So I decided to do a recap of all Girl Group debuts of 2025 (I still might be missing some, so if you have any that is not in the list please feel free to say in the comments)

If we take out the sub-units, that’s 36 debuts which is around the average that we’ve been having lately. Since 2020 we dropped below the 40 debuts, which we had consistently since 2014, with 2016 and 2017 having 56 debuts per year.

Popular groups
(Groups I feel don’t need an introduction that dominated k-pop spaces this year)
Medium tier
(groups I feel had an impact among online fans but didn’t dominate the discourse ( at least online)
Smaller Groups
(Probably made some kind of noise for the most passionate fans, but most people haven’t heard of them I’d say)
OSDS – Bluetooth (Dalshabet’s Subin/Dalsooobin is in this group and she produced the song)
iii – Forbidden Midnight (this song had came out 2 years ago? but they called it the real debut)
Tdya – Keep The Light(with a ex-Loona member and rapper Mirani some talk had to be had about this group)
Nugu/Unknown groups
(If most people haven’t heard of the ones above I feel that for these ones you had to be on the right part of the internet to even come across them)
DIVA-X – I Make My Choice (this group actually remade After School – Diva as one of the comebacks after debut)
RiRi – Rush (Funny that she was the second member of Dalshabet to be in another group this year, this time being Serri)
Hidden Glow – Spotlight (Already disbanded]
Sub-units
Moon Sua x Siyoon (Billlie) – Snap
UAU (Dreamcatcher) – 2 Months,Attitude
Rainbow18 (Rainbow) – Festival

(I might be missing more of these, they’re debuting more and more, and they easily fly under the radar)

RED OOPART – DISCOOOO(A band of girls, more on the poppy- vibey kind)
BANGTAN PINK – G.T.A(a Sharp member, a Unnies member and a Trot singer, could kinda consider it a idol group)
SON.E.JI.U – Take My Hand (Easily my favorite debut of the year, not did I already like them individually, I just miss this kind of music. Very vocal driven, full of harmonies, belts and lovely voices.)
I’ll leave another table with the numbers of debuts of all time per year (might not be 100% accurate but information on some of these groups is just very hard to find)

That’s it, the whole year of k-pop debuts, hope if you’re reading this, that I got a fact or a group that you got to discover through this. Also hope this helps combat the misinformation of k-pop being too oversaturated, but that’s just because we have way more relevant groups active, while having WAY less lower/mid tier, so people’s perception of saturation of groups went completely out of wack.
