Questions about military service

I was born in Korea, but I moved to the States when I was one. The time is coming where I have to decide whether or not to keep my Korean citizenship or renounce it, I becam a naturalised American citizen recently. I know that if I keep it I will have to serve in the military. My dad and all my cousins and served after finishing their second year in university. I am afraid that if I follow this path, I may forget everything in university, and I may have a hard time adjusting. Should I go to military before university, after finishing my second year, or after university. Also, my Korean is quite terrible, I can read and write, but I have become quite Americanised, like my parents mostly spoke English to me while growing up, and I really only speak Korean when meeting extended family. Also, what are the physical requirements like, and I wonder if I can get a health exemption since I have asthma. Also, what is the alternative service path? What should I expect if I take that route?
