Predictions: K-pop acts that could be inducted into the Guinness List of ICONS.

In September of 2024, Guinness World Records had created an ICONS List to celebrate extraordinary people and incredible moments that had played a role in shaping a world that we currently live in today. The list contains acts all around the world that are operating in different fields along with making a difference in the world today. On May 17, 2026, BTS had become the first Asian act to be inducted into the Guinness ICONS List with their records being the most followed act on Spotify (duo/group), most streamed act on Spotify (duo or group), and first K-pop act to reach number #1 on the US charts. BTS was inducted alongside other music acts like Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Elton John, Drake, Dolly Parton, and Paul McCartney and is currently listed under the pop culture section on the website. A month later, Blackpink was inducted into the list for their records of being the first female K-pop act to chart at number #1 in the US and UK along with being the most subscribed music act on YouTube. This had made Blackpink the first female K-pop act and the eight-music act to be inducted into this list of ICONS. After the inductions of both BTS and Blackpink, this opens the door for predictions of K-pop acts being inducted into the List of ICONS in the near future.

Psy- Before BTS and Blackpink, Psy had taken the world by storm with his song Gangnam Style that was released back in 2012. The song had become a cultural phenomenon and had become the most liked YouTube video during 2012. In 2013, Psy had held a free concert at the Seoul Plaza in Korea attracting at least 100,000 with Guiness World Records recognizing it as the “Largest Gangnam Style Dance”. Due to this Psy is a clear perfect candidate to be inducted into the Guinness List of ICONS.

Stray Kids- While they weren’t officially recognized by Guinness World Records, they did set a record of having the most number #1 albums on the Billboard 200 which is most for a Korean act during the chart’s 70-year history which could make them a possible candidate if Guinness recognizes them in the future.

Do you guys have any predictions for any potential candidates on this list?

Disclaimer: This is just a prediction list and not an opportunity to downplay the popularity of any acts in K-pop. Please be civil inside the comments sections and do not send any hate towards these acts.
