Opinions on Romantic Eye Gazing?

This is just a curiosity I’ve had lately as it’s something I’ve been thinking about fairly recently. I haven’t seen it talked about but sorry if it has.

So I’ve always heard that Koreans tend to dislike prolonged direct eye contact as it can be viewed as aggressive, confrontational, or overly bold.. (this differs from the West where eye contact is more encouraged) but what about in the romantic sense?

-Do Koreans (male or female) not mind holding eye contact if the person is attractive or do they still find it equally as uncomfortable? -Additionally, is it typical for romantic partners to do this? -What if silent eye gazing happens between two strangers mutually? Is there an automatic assumption of romantic interest on both parts?

Ty in advance to whoever takes the time to answer!
