first ever post on reddit, usually just a lurker who reads and comments here and there. just wanted to give enhypen their flowers because i feel like they deserve it.
not really a fan since i don’t stream, vote, or actively engage with their content and updates, but i’ve been casually listening to them ever since they debuted, and even more so after “polaroid love” came out and got me more into their music.
one of the main reasons i never really got into the group as a whole is because i genuinely cannot pinpoint who my bias is 😭 i’ve watched some of their variety shows and en-o’clock episodes in the past, but mostly i just listen to their music. they’re actually pretty high up on my spotify over the years now. from the fluffier songs to the more hip-sounding ones, they really have one of those distinct sounds that’s easily recognizable.
also, i saw that they got the grand slam with their recent music shows – congrats to enhypen and engenes! 🎉
aside from their popularity internationally, it also seems like they’re gaining much more recognition in their home country, which is really nice to see.
i only got around to listening to their recent album THE SIN : BLISS last week and every song feels title-track-worthy. i genuinely cannot explain how good this album is.
i’m especially obsessed with “bloody paradise” when i saw the recent tiktok challenge with sunoo and taesan (boynextdoor).
my absolute favorites from the album are “two fools,” “bad for you,” and “highlight.” one thing i do know is that i’ll continue listening to their music and keeping up with them from time to time, and i’m hoping for more good news for this group. they’ve been through a lot, and they deserve to enjoy their successes.
also, i really wanted to plug the fact that they’re one of the groups with really good japanese releases. i have a particular soft spot for “echoes.”
for context, i’ve been a kpop fan for more than a decade now, but i’m mainly a onedoor (boynextdoor). so i guess this is coming from someone who’s mostly an outsider casually appreciating enhypen’s music rather than a hardcore engene lol.
anyway, congrats again to enhypen and engenes! just wanted to put some appreciation out there because sometimes you don’t have to be a dedicated fan to recognize when a group is making genuinely good music. 🫶
