Nora Noh - a living trailblazer prioneer in fashion world

Born on March 21, 1928, as Noh Myung-ja in Korea under Japanese rule, her father, Noh Chang-seong, was a broadcaster at Gyeongseong Broadcasting Station. She studied at Gyeonggi Girls’ High School. When Myung Ja was 17, she entered a fake marriage with a Japanese officer because she had been nearly forced into becoming one of the comfort women by the Japanese military during World War II and abuse by her in-laws, Myung Ja decided to end the marriage with her father’s help, went to America in 1947 to study fashion at Frank W. Wiggins Trade School in LA. In 1952 and was renamed Nora after watching A Doll’s House. During the Korean War, Nora created dresses for American military families, Fashion was her first love and in 1963, she founded Fashion Lane and revolution for women’s fashion include created frist lady Yuk Young-soo and many actresses include Choi Eun Hee.
