left kpop for nearly 5 years & trying to catch up now

in june 2020, i reached one of the lowest points in my life—a moment so deeply personal and painful that it reshaped how i saw myself and what i thought i deserved. i was consumed by this belief that i wasn’t worthy of happiness, so i made this decision to cut myself off from something that had once been my solace: k-pop.l

when i say i left, i didn’t just step away— i completely erased it from my life for nearly 5 years now. i deactivated my twitter account, stopped going to concerts, and didn’t let myself hear a single k-pop song or even a korean phrase. i sold every piece of merch i bought, avoided watching kdramas, and didn’t read a single article consume any update about them! and i kept that door firmly shut.

but tonight, being already 22, i felt somewhat mature enough to revisit that part of me, to look back on the teenager who once found joy in it all.

tldr: so please, fill me in—what’s been happening in kpop & kdrama since 2020? i feel like i have so much to catch up on.
