Kpop stans and their crabs in a bucket mentality

I know it’s been talked to death, but it’s still crazy to me how much kpop stans hate seeing kpop songs be successful. Whenever a group or a song gets too ‘on top’, the bitterness toward it increases ten fold. Grammy nominations, for instance. APT and Golden were nominated for a few categories, and that seems to drive people insane. Whether the songs win or lose, it’s still great for kpop that these songs were nominated, but kpop stans can’t see that.

There’s this weird, incessant need I’ve seen for stans to minimize or downplay the success of these songs and the artists behind them since their release “Just TikTok music” “Just a kids’ movie” “It’s only because of Bruno” “western validation” Same thing happened when Dynamite was released and nominated. To this day there’s a lot of disdain for it and Butter/PTD and BTS.

Every group or idol that’s risen to the top (not talking about just Grammys anymore) has faced this. Success is a homing beacon for toxic stans to target and drag them down as hard as they can. Even if they can’t succeed in launching a hate train or whatever the end goal is, they’ll try their hardest to make sure they do as much damage as possible. It’s just really sad that some people can’t accept someone doing well if they think they don’t deserve it, that it truly angers them to see others success.

As 3RACHA has said:

If seeing this makes you uncomfortable, hm, If that’s how you feel about someone’s effort, then it’s a problem
