The soundtrack to Netflix’s animated feature KPop Demon Hunters continues to show strong commercial momentum in the U.S. music market, climbing to No. 2 on the Billboard 200 for the week of Sept. 21.
The album, which claimed the top spot just a week earlier, slipped one position as Twenty One Pilots’ new release BREACH debuted at No. 1.
Despite the dip, the KPop Demon Hunters OST recorded 112,000 album units during the tracking week — down 12% from the prior period but still a solid result in a highly competitive release cycle.
The Billboard 200 ranks albums based on a weighted formula that includes physical sales, digital downloads and streaming activity converted into album units.
Since debuting at No. 8, the soundtrack has held steady within the Top 10 for 13 straight weeks, underscoring both its durability and crossover appeal.
Industry analysts say the album’s performance reflects the growing commercial footprint of K-pop soundtracks — a segment that has historically trailed behind studio albums from major acts.
Its sustained presence on the chart suggests that streaming audiences continue to engage with the music well beyond the film’s release window, reinforcing the synergy between global streaming platforms and the music industry.
