It’s rare for an animated film soundtrack to stay this high for this long—but KPop Demon Hunters is proving to be anything but ordinary. The original soundtrack to Netflix’s blockbuster animated film has now spent four consecutive weeks at No. 2 on the U.S. Billboard 200, demonstrating remarkable staying power against pop superstar Taylor Swift.
According to a Billboard preview published Sunday, the KPop Demon Hunters OST followed closely behind Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl, which has held the top spot for four straight weeks. The album has now logged 19 consecutive weeks on the chart.
After reclaiming No. 1 last month—its second time atop the Billboard 200—the soundtrack ceded the crown to Swift’s latest release but has held firm at No. 2 ever since.
The Billboard 200 ranks the most popular albums in the United States by blending traditional album sales, streaming-equivalent albums (SEA), and track-equivalent albums (TEA) into a single metric known as “album units.”
During the latest tracking week, the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack earned 84,000 album units—down 12 percent from the previous week yet strong enough to comfortably retain its runner-up position.
