So I just watched the video where Katseye members talk about their pre-release song, and apparently, they like it and are even defending the lyrics. I genuinely did not expect that?
Like… they speak English fluently. I assumed they’d feel the same way a lot of us do about the lyrics being kind of cringe and meaningless (“Tesla gnarly”?? come on). I honestly thought maybe they didn’t have much say in the song and were just doing their best with what they were given. But nope they’re out here hyping it up.
This really threw me off because I expected a bit more critical distance, or at least neutrality. Not necessarily them trashing it publicly (obviously they can’t), but the way they’re confidently standing behind it kind of makes me wonder if we’re missing something… or if they’re just doing what the company wants them to idk?
Anyone else surprised by this? Is it possible they genuinely like it, or are they just putting on a brave face? Curious to hear what everyone thinks after watching the clip.
