I saw the recent vma performances and this reminded me of my views on katseye. Although marketed as some great forward thinking group they still act and behave like a kpop group. There songs and choreography is centred and still made around how other kpop artists are whilst they still to an extent can’t express themselves in a way most global groups can because of potential backlash.
Then there’s the music which I do unfortunately feel is very bland and copy and paste. Each song feels similar and the song gnarly truly goes to show the emphasis that group put in sound rather then lyrics even though they didn’t do well in both. Their choreography is unfortunately very mediocre too whilst the only decent dancer Daniela is still made to do the stiff dances the other members do with tasteless twerking as there signature move.
It’s a shame they’re being pushed so far in the music industry due to perhaps there popularity rather then music. Just some thoughts I wanted to voice.
