BTS star Jungkook has once again shown the global pull of his music. According to Spotify, the world’s largest music streaming platform, his solo single Seven (feat. Latto), released in July 2023, crossed 2.5 billion streams as of Aug. 18 — the first time a Korean solo artist has ever hit the mark on the platform.

It’s the latest feat in a record-setting solo run. Jungkook’s songs have now been streamed more than 9.4 billion times, the most for any K-pop solo act. His solo album Golden, released last November, is also closing in on 6 billion plays.

The numbers are impressive, but so is the story behind them. Seven not only stormed to No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 and global charts upon release, it also became the fastest track in Spotify history to reach 1 billion streams — in just 108 days.

Billboard later named it the most popular song outside the US in its 2024 International Power Players list. Even two years on, the track is still riding high, logging over 100 consecutive weeks on both the Global 200 and Billboard Global (excluding US) charts.
