Sorry in advance if any of this is off base.
Growing up I was into grunge, Britpop, the rock and roll revival—that whole era. Now I’m deep into K-pop and honestly having a blast. Almost exclusively girl groups. My favorites are NewJeans and Red Velvet, but there’s a long list.
Anyway, the real reason I’m posting—f(x). I love them. There’s a musicality to them that could only exist in K-pop, with this slightly off-kilter quality that sets them apart. Some tracks might not click for everyone, but for me it’s all good. As a group they’re just uniquely cool. I know the incredible sound production comes from being on SM, but I think they’re wonderful as artists too.
Recently I fell deep into Krystal’s “Solitary” and now I can’t stop. Does anyone know if she has an album in the works? I can’t find much information. I really hope something’s coming.
Is that single getting the recognition it deserves?
I’ve always thought f(x) is a group that deserves reappraisal. And I know the tragedy—but I love Sulli’s EP too.
