I know artists all over the world use remixes to help boost numbers especially for charts like bbhot100, which i think uses remix sales to count for points on the chart, but it’s getting to a point where the remixes are sucking the soul out of the song especially with the way kpop companies promote them.
I do think some remixes are great and really give a new life to the song especially when theyre made intentionally like le sserafim’s crazy ft pinkpantheress. It’s the singular reason I gave crazy a second shot after disliking it on first listen and now crazy is my favorite song by the group.
But can someone genuinely tell me what purpose the current trend of member versions, sped up, short, slowed/reverb, cross group collab versions is serving other than for bb charts cause im really curious why we’re seeing it with almost every group out there rn.
I at least get the appeal of tiktok challenges cause it significantly boost a song’s performance with going viral on social media but these 1000 versions confuse me.
