I know this sounds very bitter older gen stan but I never viewed myself as one. The main characteristics of “bitter older gen stans” is that they’re never open to new gens. I was open to 5th gen from the start.
I’ve been through many 5th gen artists such as illit,h2h,kiss of life,xlov and babymonster. Illit was the 5th gen grp I stanned the longest but I recently unstanned bc I realized I no longer clicked with the music. I was very close to stanning kiss of life but the live turned me off of them. I was obsessed with xlov during summer but for some reason I never got that last “click” needed to stan. Same goes for h2h and baemon.
I’m thinking it may be the age gaps but it’s not like there are grps like 10 years younger than me. The biggest age gap I’ve seen in 5th gen (from my age) is 4 years which isn’t terribly bad.
I’m thinking it might be the sound and concept 5th gen clings to? I like more of a katseye type of vibe and when it comes to softer vibes a nostalgia core one. A lot of 5th gen ggs do a more “princess” or “quirky” type of vibe which isn’t my thing. And I mention ggs because when it comes to bgs I never click with them for some reason,not even older gens. The last time I properly stanned a bg was 6 years ago and that only lasted a couple months.
Idk,while I love 4th gen I still haven’t found that grp for 5th gen
