I was an intense 3rd gen multi stan and by the time 2020 hit, I was burnt out on kpop. I left my fandoms and distanced myself from it all before I-LAND came around. And even after Enhypen debuted, they were all teenagers, which put me off and I never gave them a chance. (Stupid, I know, I could’ve at least listened to their music) Also, I know a lot or probably most idols debuted as teens, but I was used to all my fav boy groups being older than me (I’m born in 2000). I was in a phase where I was like EW men younger than me [even by one year] I don’t wanna see that.
Last year I became a casual listener though. Then Heeseung left just when I was on the verge of stanning, so I missed his entire career in Enhypen. He’s still very much my bias wrecker and I love him in all the interviews and funny compilations I see. Can’t forget that he’s one of the most talented idols EVER.
Bloody Paradise is truly the catalyst for me truly becoming a fan though. Jay became my bias really quickly. I’m even watching I-LAND rn and some parts are almost making me cry. So far it’s deepened my appreciation for all the members and I’m so happy those babies got to debut and grow up together.
Now they’re already heading toward contract renewal time. They’ve been on several world tours and I’ve missed them all…………….. Now I’ll have to wait for the next one, whenever that is. Hopefully it happens.
But why am I just tuning in now? Maybe I wasn’t meant to be a fan at debut, yet I could’ve been here 3 whole years earlier. I love them so much now and thinking about this makes me feel sick.
