Ejae — the Korean American singer-songwriter who lent her soulful voice to Rumi in Netflix’s hit animated film KPop Demon Hunters — is set to make her long-awaited solo debut with the single “In Another World” on October 24.

The artist, who also composed the film’s breakout soundtrack hit “Golden,” announced the release through a heartfelt handwritten letter shared on Instagram.

“The past few months have been a crazy ride… I mean I was just on SNL!!! I’m so humbled and grateful for the love I’ve received,” she wrote.

Ejae reflected on her journey from being a behind-the-scenes songwriter to embracing her own voice as an artist.

“People keep referring to me as an ‘artist’ or a ‘star’ — which is everything 11-year-old EJAE dreamed of, but over the years, I became comfortable behind the scenes and I didn’t think I was meant to be an artist,” she said.

“Writing this song helped me through a hard time, and I hope that sharing it can help others too,” she added. “It’s called In Another World and is releasing October 24.”

The announcement came just days after Ejae appeared on NBC’s Saturday Night Live alongside fellow KPop Demon Hunters vocalists Rae Ami and Audrey Nuna. The trio performed “Golden” live for the first time — a performance that has since gone viral, surpassing 5 million views on YouTube.

Meanwhile, “Golden” continues to make waves on global charts. As of October 10, the track held strong at No. 5 on the UK Official Singles Top 100, underscoring its sustained success months after release.
