I’m making this post to open up a discussion about SM Entertainment, specifically their management after LSM left. I’m aware that this is by no means a surprise, since many people have pointed out SM 3.0’s lackluster management skills.
What prompted this post was an account given by an SM employee on Blind. It’s pretty recent, as of April 2024.
Its interesting to see that some staff would favour the old SM Entertainment, so to speak.

SM has always been incompetent at management. I need not state events like JYJ being blacklisted from the industry and SM doing absolutely nothing about sasaeng fans, all the way since the first artists under them.
I cannot state all examples as I’ve only really stanned Riize, and was casually into NCT during the pandemic. We all know the dumb decision trainwreck surrounding Riize. I think that’s the latest example. I do think there was a stark divide between SM higher ups and C5 (Suju, EXO and RIIZE are under them) with Seunghan’s return. I genuinely believe SM higher ups never wanted him back.
So, as the title states, I would love to know what you think about the current management. What areas are they better in, and what is lacking within the company?
I’d say it’s unity. SM seems confused with its own multi- centre structure.
