Hello, everyone! Lovely day today! I was holding on to this Greatest Hits until Spotify Wrapped came out because someone had that song as their top song on Spotify Wrapped last year, and I thought it would be poetic. I was skimming through some other Wrappeds, and I’m delighted by both the depth and width of the top artists and songs. Some people spread out the love. Other people really focused on one or two groups. Both are good. Both are very good.
Also, I just forgot that it was Wednesday as I was typing this out and panicked about if I’d already posted the mid-week one. So, that’s where I’m at. Here are the music show wins from 11/27 – 12/03. Triple crown was won this week, so that’s exciting. A pair of first wins for the song also came up. ASC featured my boy Jay. He’s both hilarious and has a set of killer pipes on him. Almost the whole episode was done in English.
Enough babbling from me. For those of you who only care about the reviews, here they are! Thank you! You’re awesome! I’ll see you in a couple of days! Thank you again for your time and attention!
(Seowon from NINE.i was on Boys Planet. He was adorable in it and ZEROBASEONE and Hui both love him. Just as a quiet plug for that song.)
12/02
Lucy “She’s Smiling”
M.O.N.T “When Winter Comes”
12/03
Jay Chang “What You Need”
THE BOYZ “Last Kiss”
12/04
NINE.i “MIRAGE” {Japanese Debut}
The8 “Orbit”
GREATEST HITS Chocolate “What To Do”
Covers first. Well, the only one that came on my radar. I was a little late with finding it. Yesung did a cover of wave to earth’s song bad. His vocals are fantastic.
Lucy released a song I love, even if it lacks the violin. M.O.N.T are my boys, though I was very surprised to see Bitsaeon in the mix. But even though NINE.i’s song is a little mellower than we normally hear from them, it’s still such a good song. And I found out that my suspicions were correct and they basically had to do all of this themselves. Which, they did such a good job. And I’m not just saying that because I love them. Is it low budget? Yes. But it’s not poorly done. They need love, you guys.
Chocolate was a girl group that debuted in 2010. They released one (1) digital single. Their company fell apart because of a scandal that had nothing to do with the members though they were originally suspected of being the ones involved, and they disbanded basically within the year. The Roulette Wheel chose this group for me, and I found out that last year there was either one tweet or a pair of tweets that brought a lot of people over to that music video. I’m not entirely sure. But what I do know is that there is someone in the world whose top song of 2023 was this song. So since the purpose of the Greatest Hits segments is to love on songs that could be forgotten or have been forgotten, and to be a celebration for the fans, I dedicate this post to you, random stranger. I hope this review finds you eventually, and it brings you joy.
The Roulette Wheel gave me Greatest Hits for two 3rd gen boy groups, one 1st gen girl group, and one 2nd gen girl group. I don’t have specific groups yet, for those, so if there are any suggestions for those, I’d love them. I’ve got a B.A.P b-side that was suggested to me that I’ve started work on, but I’d like a little bit more time to pass before I do another B.A.P song, especially from the same album.
Spotify Wrapped is always an uncomfortable time for me because I realize exactly how much I have Spotify running all the time because I use it as background noise to stay focused on things I need to stay focused on.

I almost single-handedly got FACE their royalties on Spotify with 667 streams. I listened to NU’EST over 8k minutes. And my total minutes is 103k. I did the math and found out that’s about 71 continuous days. Longest day was in September. Not surprised about the artists at all. The first two songs are exactly as I expected. The order of the other three was a little bit of a surprise. But, oh, my gosh. Those numbers are ridiculous. Like, what is that? Why? Why?
I’m so dirty, How can I love you is such a freaking good song, especially because I know how hard he worked for that. He’s a rapper. Singing makes him uncomfortable. But he took vocal lessons so that he could give his fans more than just rapping. He also wanted that song on his debut album, but he didn’t think his voice was ready yet. Two months. Two months down until he’s out. It’s fine. The link goes to his performance from his concert just about a year ago, where he did most of his new songs prior to the album coming out. It was the first concert I lost sleep for to watch the livestream. I cried watching the performance. It’s fine.
That was very long and chatty. Sorry. I had a bad day at work. I’m deeply curious to see what yours looks like. Not to compare to mine, but I just love seeing what other people are listening to.
There were some b-sides that got music videos recently so I’m going to go work on them. And look forward to V’s duet with Bing Crosby. V’s voice. Bing-a-ling’s voice. I’m a little scared of it because I want it to be so good.
Toodle-oo, everyone! I’ll be back in a few days! Sorry that was long! You’re fabulous! Thank you! Have a fantastic day/rest of your day!
It’s not so much a fun fact for today as it is a suggestion. I quote this skit all the time. It’s hilarious. It’s one of my favorite things. Abbot and Costello’s Who’s on First?. I encountered it for the first time in seventh grade reading an abridged version of it in my reading class, and about died from laughing.
