Basically what the title says. Lip syncing and live autotuning exist, and no matter how vocally gifted your group is, they are gonna use it. Yk why? Because :-
(A) the moment they make a very human mistake because yk, they are often performing WILD choreographies while singing, y’all are gonna harrass the living shit out of them.
And (B) not many idols are capable of that. Not many idols are skilled enough to be able to do that. Your fave most likely canNOT actually sing live, because that’s the norm nowadays. Overhyping them isn’t going to change that.
There are few groups that can manage to sing stably despite their choreographies but most can’t because they are HUMAN. It’s simply a fact that idols are gonna lip sync. That’s not going anywhere, it’s gonna keep happening.
So when I see a comment section under any performance filled with people claiming the mics are on, when they clearly aren’t, it just pisses me off. As if you would give them ANY grace had the mics actually been on and they fucked up a bit.
It’s fine if they are otherwise vocally excellent idols who just can’t sing while dancing. It’s fine if they are vocally incompetent. It’s fine if they are not stable. It’s fine if they need backtracks and live autotuning. You not liking that or you not believing that won’t change the fact that they NEED these tools if they are to perform well, and to perform while trying to dodge at least some of the online harrasment that they will surely receive. If you are not fine with that, unstan them. Don’t lie about it and say that oh the mics are sooo ON. Cause no. Nowadays, especially with 4th and 5th gen, they rarely are.
(Now ofc there ARE groups that can sing well while performing, this is simply for those who don’t do so live)
