Is spicy good for you or not?

I’ve been trying to broaden my horizons in regards to food. I’ve always been a picky eater and it’s still hard for me, so I’m trying to eat from a wider range or foods but also be healthy! I’m obsessed by the Asian cultures, especially South Korea. However, I know they eat food VERY spicy. Like every other person with free will I started looking up stuff and I’m really conflicted about the results I found. Spicy food isn’t that good for you, Korean food has a lot of sodium, high fat and too much sugar… BUT most Korean people I’ve seen are really healthy and slim (I know genes and the type of life they live matters a lot, but still, they really do look healthy!).

A study said that spicy is good for you, okay, that’s great! But what about the spicy levels from Asia? Most results gave me disappointing answers, and I’m genuinely curious. I’d love to travel the world and stay a while, like a month or two, maybe even more in one country, and the most different type of foods are the ones from Asia, so it’s my biggest “issue”. I’d like to get used to it starting now, a while before, since the food actually looks really good!!

P.S.: I really don’t want to offend anyone, I’m really not that educated on this type of subject, which is why I’m asking this here, if I did say something offensive please let me know! 🙏
