For those who don’t know Machine Gun Kelly (MGK) is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and actor. One thing he is infamous for is getting into beefs with various well-respected musicians and having to switch genres because of it. Most notably, he had to left both rap and rock thanks to getting into feuds with Eminem and Slipknot respectively. As of writing this, MGK is currently doing country music, but it is likely that he will get into a beef with a well-respected country artist and thus would have to switch genres again.
This question was inspired by a post I saw on r/ToddintheShadow about what would happen to MGK’s career depending on which country artist he decides to get beef with. That post intrigued me and it got me thinking which K-pop artist would be the worst one for MGK to beef with if he ever switched to K-pop (or even stayed in country)? Also, the which artists would you place in the tiers below?
The tiers are (yes they are based on the ones from the post on r/ToddintheShadow):
- Don’t even try to switch genre anymore dude, just leave music as a whole tier
- Switch immediately you’re not going to recover tier
- Going to lose his (remaining) credibility but can make at least one more hit tier
- Will make a big scandal but probably nothing major will happen (yet) tier
- Nothing will happen to either side tier
- Unironically on MGK’s level (or lower)
