BTS Jungkook, K-pop’s lone record maker, extends Spotify and Billboard milestones

BTS Jungkook

BTS member Jungkook has set yet another milestone on global streaming giant Spotify, reaffirming his status as K-pop’s first and only “record factory.”

“Yes or No,” a track from his debut solo album GOLDEN released in November 2023, recently surpassed 300 million filtered streams on Spotify. It marks the singer’s eighth track to cross the 300 million threshold under his solo account — and the fourth from GOLDEN alone.

Including his fan-favorite BTS solo track Euphoria, Jungkook now holds nine songs that have each amassed more than 300 million streams.

His achievements go beyond single-track performance. Jungkook remains the first and only K-pop soloist with 19 songs surpassing 100 million streams on Spotify. Notably, all 18 of his original solo releases have cleared the 100 million mark — an unprecedented feat for any Asian solo artist.

The singer’s dominance continues on the Billboard charts. According to the latest tally dated Sept. 27, Jungkook’s debut solo single Seven ranked No. 145 on the Global 200, extending its run to 113 weeks — the longest ever for an Asian solo act. On Billboard’s Global Excl. U.S. chart, the song landed at No. 89, marking a record 114 consecutive weeks.

Seven had earlier made history by spending nine straight weeks at No. 1 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart and seven weeks atop the Global 200, becoming the first song by an Asian artist to dominate both charts simultaneously for seven consecutive weeks.
