Are there Korean summer foods that seem counterintuitive but are actually meant to help with the heat?

Summer is coming soon where I live, and it made me think about how different cultures have their own foods that are supposed to help people deal with hot weather.

I haven’t been to Korea yet, but from dramas and random videos online I’ve heard about dishes like ginseng chicken soup (samgyetang). What surprised me is that it’s served really hot, even though the weather is already very hot in the summer.

From the outside that feels a bit counterintuitive, because you’d expect cold foods to help more.

So I was wondering if there are other foods like that in Korea. Maybe dishes that seem unusual for summer from an outsider’s perspective but are traditionally eaten during hot weather because they’re supposed to help with energy or dealing with the heat.

I’m also curious how common this actually is in everyday life compared to what shows depict.
