Anyone else think the 왁뿌볼 trend is kind of uncanny?

First off, I am not against adults engaging in “childish” activities. I found the recent 경도 trend among adults genuinely heartwarming, and coloring books for stress relief is great. To each their own. But the 왁뿌볼 trend has been rubbing me the wrong way.

I think it’s partially that it’s literally a one time thing, where it literally exists for a fleeting second, you crush it, and then it’s instantly a piece of trash. It feels like hyper-consumerism. Only adding to that, there is something very strange about watching adults literally roll their eyes back and gasp/moan at the sound of cracking wax. I know people label it as “stress relief’, but it comes off more as a desperate sensory stimulation. And it also feels like an instant relief system for people who don’t really have the energy to search for actual emotional catharsis and is just exhausted.

A reference article for those who don’t get it. No offense to the people who consume these btw
