The fans were worried about ADP’s long hiatus, and I guess they were right to be concerned. They went from selling around 250k albums with LOOK AT ME to just over 60k with CRASH. That is a STEEP drop from one project to another.
Knowing that a large portion of their fandom comes from the domestic market, it seems like a lot of their domestic fans may have lost interest during the hiatus. Their comeback has also been much quieter and weaker on the charts this time around. It’s not necessarily doing terribly, but I suppose it is when you compare it to their previous standards.
On their 8th day, they finally broke into the Top 50 on the daily chart, which is a pretty slow climb compared to their previous releases. The reception’s been quite lukewarm overall. Their youtube content viewership is only a fraction of what it used to be as well.
Idk about you guys, but this is really not the kind of trajectory you want to see from a sophomore group that had so much hype surrounding them from their rookie year.
