Add sauce?

My knowledge of Korean food is basically Maangchi’s YouTube channel. Please be gentle if this is a silly question. I made her recipe for tuna pancakes (chamchijeon) last week and beef pancakes tonight. They were both delicious and everyone loved them. And we also agreed they needed a dipping sauce. Is this because we didn’t have kimchi with it? Does that kind of fill that dip/sauce gap or are we just used to eating different style of food that has more dips and sauces? Or is it fine to put some dips and sauces on the table?

(Photo of soegogi-jeon i made with the possibly-blasohemous bulgogi sauce from a bottle that I dipped it in.)
