So I think i was sold off to the song within the first 10 seconds, but i knew within the first listen that they were the real deal. I believe the concept and the song + The performance and the girls played equal roles in making this a amazing debut. Neither of them would have landed without the other. I wouldn’t say the concept itself isn’t brand new out of the world (SM did this with NCT aespa), but i think what makes their concept and sound refreshing, is that in 5th gen gg we have seen the easy listening, cutesy young concept , and the edm and brazillian funk being the major sounds. handful of groups played it differently.
With A20 they went all white visually with a sci-fi, futuristic concept, And the song’s genre according to rate my music is : Electroclash, Miami Bass, Funk mandelão, Pop Rap, Crunk, Hyphy. they did go with Funk mandelão(sub genre of brazillian funk) in the dance break. But i feel this contrast also played a part in the song going so hard.
And we have to thank Dem Jointz and Yoo Young-jin for blessing us with such a hit in 2026.
The song is already in the Top 20 of Melon. If there isn’t another debut song that tops them and if A20 lite has one more solid hit. They will be sweeping of the Rookie awards in 2027 and become the Monster Rookies of 5th gen alongside NJ. And they might have paved the way to kick off 6th gen
