BTS singles that sound more Electropop, Core 10s, CovidTok, Core 2020s, etc

This post is inspired the “[Artist] singles that sound more [musical era]” compilations on r/decadeology. The K-pop artist I will be looking at today is the boy band BTS. This list will cover both songs by the group as well as solo and subunit songs by the individual members. I will also do some B-sides, but only the ones I feel like covering.

Warning: This compilation is really long.

Some definitions you should know before you read the compilation:

  • Electropop Era: Aka the Recession Pop. This era ran roughly from 2008 to 2013. It is named for the fun, party pop with excessive use of electric synths that was really popular at the time. But r/decadeology also uses that term to refer to the 2000s/2010s transition era.
  • CovidTok Era: A portmanteau of Covid-19 and TikTok. It is what r/decadeology calls the 2010s/2020s transition era. This era ran roughly from 2019 to 2022.

This classification is mostly based on how the song sounds and the year of release does not automatically disqualify a song from being classified as a certain era. To be honest, there were some songs I was not sure of their placement. So if you have any disagreements, please let me know politely.
