There’s a lot of noise surrounding Trump’s latest political maneuver, but here’s a perspective I believe that is not being said aloud at the moment. Many people seem to believe that Trump is disparaging South Korea for not helping the US during the Iran conflict, but the main reason why Trump is focusing on the Korean peninsula at the moment is because he wants to begin an intative on North Korea. Whether Trump will get a reaction from North Korea is to be seen, but his actions are not much of an offense to South Koreans. In fact, South Koreans are mildly curious as to where this all will lead. There still are several political actors who haven’t reacted to Trump’s latest action: USFK commander General Brunson and the DRK leadership.
