I never was a fan of NewJeans and even dislike the group which was solely because of how their fans acted online. I always knew of them but never listed to their music and stayed a bit in the loop during the legal battle until recently.
I always knew how huge they were and how they are still considered leaders of 4th gen girl groups but I never understood why they exploded the way they did until I came across this clip of their performance at the kbs song festival 2023. From the song alone that is “ETA” made me understand and instantly listen to their entire discography which in my opinion has no skips in the slightest. Yet what stood out to me the most were the members themselves, it’s hard to explain but the energy they give off, the stage presence of all 5 is insane. It feels as if they aren’t trying and just natural performers. All 5 are indeed all rounders in my opinion and mash together incredibly well from the performances I’ve seen so far. Just as many I would hope would feel, these girls would of been the biggest group for a long while with no one touching them, it’s really not something I could put into words but from this clip alone shows they would of continued to be stars and grow even brighter.
I know they are coming back as four but I don’t believe it would be the same, I feel for those members and hope they are indeed treated better as well as Daniella. NewJeans really would have been global superstars and were truly a One in A Million group that will be constantly on loop in my playlists now.
