I think they’re my ult rn, despite not being K-pop, but not because of the music and performances they released, but because of how authentic and comforting they are. I may not have Weverse or any application installed to watch them live, so I search for their livestreams on YT, and honestly, this is the first ever music group that made my chest very light and free, as they’re very much vocal about what they want to talk about, such as mental health, sexuality, politics, and more. Maybe because they speak English, which breaks the language barrier, and they don’t follow specific K-pop guidelines if they want to interact with fans.
Aside from that, they’re the group you should fear when you cross boundaries with them, like when Lara got insulted for her looks. Manon and Dani immediately expressed their disappointment with a death stare and a few words before reporting that user, while Sophia almost lost her temper when someone talked about his brother being single. Megan, on one of her solo live talks about mental health, mentioned that she wants to use her platform and influence for a global change to help people who are suffering in similar situations. This is my favourite, having deep talks with Lara is what I find soothing the most; I remember there was a point that I shed tears to let all the weight out from my chest, then I suddenly remembered some of Lara’s words; for me, she’s the most mature and has the healthiest mindset. There are still many I wanna talk it out, but I’m just going to cut here.
I wanna meet them so bad, not as a fan but as someone who seeks comfort and wants to learn from them to somewhat help fix myself and make better choices. If ever I meet them, if the universe allows me, I wanna have very meaningful, long, deep talks with them. I’m saying all of this stuff as a sophomore college student myself who’s longing for those kinds of interactions because adulting life has been hectic lately :(((
