Thoughts on World Scout : The Final Piece

So I’m probably late to the party but I just finished watching World Scout : The Final Piece. I’ve seen a lot of people voice out their opinions on how they should’ve chosen Ayana instead of Sakura and I gotta say that for the most part I agree with it. Don’t get me wrong the judges were completely right that Sakura have potential and star quality but I feel like for the overall composition of the group they are making Ayana would’ve been the perfect choice for multiple reasons.

– The most obvious reason is age, Sakura is wayy younger than the other members, it’s not a well-balanced group in terms of age therefor the group would have to hold back a lot when it comes to music, dances and concepts that they do. Let’s be honest the group they’re making definitely seemed like they’re aiming to promote in the West so they’re gonna have a hard time working around the age factor.

– Next would be skills, the other members are already well-skilled, Sakura has no prior experience when it comes to singing and dancing, she just started getting trained during the show. Now that’s not to say that Ayana is overly skilled or on par with the other members, I think she’s still lacking in some areas but if they are planning to debut them as soon as possible she would’ve been the perfect choice.

Honestly as I was watching the show a thought popped in my head, they should’ve chosen Ayana to be the final member and offer Sakura a trainee contract to train her more and have her debut later on. Star quality is something that cannot be taught that I agree with but based on the timeline they’re aiming for, the current gap in skills, gap in ages etc. they should’ve just taken more time to polish her. Also I feel like Sakura would fit more if she debuts in a Kpop Group compared to a Western “International Group”.
