So now that Katseye is adding tour dates…can you believe that Kpop specifically is declining in the West?

A lot of responses to this take have been “look at X other artists who cancelled tours”. While yes I acknowledge that the economic factors play a role, they don’t paint the full story.

With Katseye adding dates, it’s clear that there still is strong concert demand, and that there even is strong girl group demand.

There appear to be problems specifically with Kpop groups where they are not as popular as they used to be.

I believe people have pointed out that similar things are happening in Southeast Asia with more local girl groups becoming popular. I don’t see why the same couldn’t hold true for the West.
