i’ve been a blink for 8 years. i’ve supported blackpink since i joined the fandom, every music video drop, every stage, every drought between releases. i’ve defended them in real life and online for years. i’ve always considered myself a fan, just not a blind one.
recently, i commented on a random reel where people were discussing blackpink’s current direction. i shared my disappointment, saying they don’t feel the same anymore and that i miss their older style. nothing hateful, nothing insulting, just an honest opinion from someone who’s been here since day one.
people from the fandom started replying aggressively, and then some of them literally came to my profile to continue the harassment. they called me “ugly,” made disgusting comments about my family, and one person even said they were “wishing dth” on my mom. all because i dared to say blackpink isn’t the same anymore.
it stopped being about music and turned into straight up verbal abuse.
i blocked the worst one, but honestly, i’m exhausted. i’ve seen fanwars, immaturity, and petty behavior over the years, but this crossed every possible line. i don’t want to be part of a community where you can’t express a simple opinion without being attacked personally, especially involving family. and this isn’t even the first time it’s happened.
wishing harm on someone’s mom is crazy..
so after 8 years, i’m done. i’m officially leaving the blackpink fandom. not because of the group. i love blackpink… i just can’t anymore.
