Spicy Seafood Stew (Haemul Jjim) and Fried Rice

I had dinner tonight at a Haemul Jjim (spicy seafood stew) restaurant. For banchan (side dishes), they served Japchae, Kimchi, various seasoned vegetables (namul), and Miyeok-guk (seaweed soup). The Miyeok-guk and the side dishes were especially delicious!

We ordered the Haemul Jjim, and the portion size was very generous! It came packed with all sorts of seafood like squid, octopus, abalone, ark shell (mideodeok), and monkfish (agu) meat, along with bean sprouts and onions.

The restaurant offers four different spice levels. Our family opted for the regular/medium spice level, and it was perfect for us—just the right amount of heat! We also ordered fried rice as a side, and it was delicious. The only downside was that the weather was so cold that the food cooled down quickly.
