Hongjoong’s own fashion show was such a beautiful display of creativity

Hongjoong’s designed his very own line of clothes and debuted his very first ever fashion collection- Petit Coussin on his birthday featuring 24 child models of diverse ethnic backgrounds.

And I can’t stop thinking about how unique and heartwarming it was.

Here’s a link if anyone wants to take a look.

  • Reason behind the name:

What makes it even more special is that Petite Cushion was the name of his mom’s children’s clothing store when he was young.

While preparing for her shop, she would set aside clothes she wanted to dress him and his brother in.

The fact that he brought those memories to life through this project makes the whole thing even more meaningful. It’s such a beautiful way of blending his artistry with his personal story.

  • The set was so dynamic and visually striking:

Sand covered the floor, smooth at first, but as the children walked barefoot across it, watching their footprints slowly filled the space felt surreal to me.

I interpreted it as a reflection of how childhood shapes all us, how those early memories leave lasting marks even though, like footprints in the sand, they’re fleeting and delicate.

Every child’s path was different. Some brought things along, some played, some sat down to read, but all eventually left the playground, just like how we all grow and move on from our own childhoods. The entire set overall evoked a sense of innocence and calmness.

  • The collection:

The clothes themselves felt so whimsical like they came straight out of a fairytale. And yet they still carried Hongjoong’s personal touch and practicality.

Here are some of my favourite looks from the show

The asymmetrical blue skirt had my entire heart. I don’t even have kids but I wanted to own that skirt! 😂

I absolutely adore these pieces and am already planning to style something inspired by some of those looks.

Watching him grow from reforming his own clothes during trainee days, to collaborating with designers, to now creating his own full collection honestly made me so proud. I’m eagerly waiting for the day he starts his own fashion line (and hopefully I’d love to own a few pieces myself).

And of course, the best part: everything was genderless, as always. 🥹✨
