A historic milestone for K-pop has been achieved. The animated Netflix production KPop Demon Hunters and BLACKPINK’s Rosé have become the first K-pop acts ever to earn nominations in the Grammy Awards’ prestigious General Fields categories — signaling the genre’s growing recognition in the global pop landscape.
According to the Recording Academy, Rosé picked up three nominations, including two General Fields — Song of the Year and Record of the Year — for her viral hit “APT.”
Meanwhile, the KPop Demon Hunters original soundtrack secured five nominations, including Song of the Year for “Golden.” This marks the first time any K-pop project has been nominated in the General Fields, and notably, the first time a female K-pop artist has achieved the feat.
Rosé’s nominations — Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance — include the very category where BTS earned three straight nominations in previous Grammy ceremonies.

The KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack also earned nods for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, Best Song Written for Visual Media, Best Remixed Recording, and Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media, totaling five nominations.
Additionally, HYBE’s U.S.–Korea joint girl group KATSEYE scored nominations for Best New Artist and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, while the stage musical Maybe Happy Ending was recognized in Best Musical Theatre Album.
The 68th Annual Grammy Awards will be held on February 1, 2026, at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
