Do other people also think songs as like collectibles?

Similar to having photocards, book or just any other collectible, just probs a lot more cheaper since you can just listen online or offline if you’ve downloaded it.

Just imagine your main playlist as a binder, with all the songs you like formed into a collection:

  • Songs that are your absolute favorites of all time are considered limited editions, worth the highest value to you.
  • Ones you find really unique/stands out to you has a rarity of ‘rare’ attached to it
  • Songs you’re not into or not a fan of anymore may be given away (deleted off the playlist)
  • Online platforms like Youtube are like ‘shops’ which tries sell you music you can collect (add to playlist)
  • You can exchange music you like with others (kind of like trading but without the actual giving away part)
  • Songs that are added to multiple playlists are considered ‘double ups’ there
  • Remixes are like different versions to the original (well, literally they are kind of)
  • The songs you haven’t listened to in a long time but giving it a relisten one day is like nostalgia, similar to finding a toy when cleaning a room, or re-reading a book from childhood.

Not often, but sometimes I think like this, I just wanted to share the resemblance music had to like physical collectibles but just digitally (unless you can count like CD’s, vinyl records etc). I hope this post kinda makes sense and it’s not just a weird thought I came up with haha

Anyone’s free to ask me questions on it if you have any cause I myself find it a bit strange lol
