Why you should check out Dreamcatcher if you’re a metalhead/rock fan who’s into Kpop.
-There is no other Kpop idol group that is fully dedicated to the rock/metal sound in Kpop(not talking about idol rock bands). The kpop rock/metal sound is their identity and what they’re known for, it’s not a “concept”.
-Dreamcatcher have the largest kpop rock/metal discography for a kpop group.
-Dreamcatcher have heavier songs than the more well known idol bands. Yes even heavier than Xdinary Heroes’s recent release iNSTEAD which I love btw and hope to see more of that sound.
-Dreamcatcher make use of 7 string guitars, low tunings, double bass drums, shred guitar solos in their songs.
-Members of COLDRAIN(Japanese Metalcore Band) & HAMMERFALL(Swedish Power Metal Band) have played instruments on Dreamcatcher songs.
-Going by fandom alone, there are more rock/metalheads within the Insomnia fandom compared to those who came from Kpop scene, they’re just not as active on social media as compared to the Kpop insomnias, but you will see them come out in hoards at DC concerts.
-Despite coming from next to nothing and having a niche sound that doesn’t appeal to everyone, they are one of the few remaining active 3rd Gen Girl Groups and still going strong. They are now the best selling Third Gen girl group not coming from a Big Company(recently surpassing Mamamoo).
I implore the Rock/metal fans especially, who are into Kpop to check out Dreamcatcher, they have songs in every shade of rock that any enthusiast would enjoy.
