Some of you may know that young posse released their new song COLD featuring 10cm yesterday and the message of the song is both super dark and important.
It tells a story of sister and brother (Yeonjung and actor Tseng Jing Hua) who are abandoned by their father who left them to start another family; now he has a new daughter (Doeun). The siblings want to take revenge on their father, so they make a plan where their friends will scare Doeun and Jing Hua rescues hee to make her fall in love with him. They form a relationship and Jing Hua invites Doeun to his place to take photos of her, that are later turned into deepfakes and posted on the internet.
Everyone turns against Doeun, she gets massive amount of hate and that makes her unalive herself by jumping off a building. The scene is filmed by Yeonjung and her brother sends it to their father to show how his dear daughter jumps to her death.
Korea has a massive deepfake problem that has to be talked about and the fact that young posse decided to do so is a brave message that needs to be spreaded.
People clowned them for their concept, but now they showed us that they’re more than just a regular group, they’re here to make a statement and bring voice to those who had it taken away.
