a couple week ago i thought about this because i was scrolling to read some celebrity drama that mutual reposted on twitter, and after reading the comments i wondered why kpop stans — atleast us stans here in the West, are not as conspiracy obsessed like people who follow Hollywood are?
conspiracy theories do exist in kpop, obviously. but i feel like most kpop stans just don’t care enough or take them seriously for them to become huge. like the most wackiest kpop theories you’ll see is one of the BTS members being secretly married and having a kid on the way or Wendy being a clone or something and nobody will reaaaaally care? most kpop stans just laugh it off
even when i look threads of “what’s a kpop conspiracy theory you believe?” it always (for the most part ) so…. tame and 9/10 far more logical compared to the ones you see about hollywood singers/actors.
kpop stans would be like “idols date each other more than we think” “some idols have lurk and know what stans say about them” “a lot of idols don’t like each other like we see on screen” and just leave at that.
if this was Hollywood, Red Velvet especially Irene would’ve already been accused of sacrificing children, BTS are satanic puppets, and the Armageddon MV was a symbolism of how Aespa sold their souls. Or something like that lmfao.
Again just asking cus I only recently partially figured why I can’t bare to really engage in type of social media discussions about American celebrities without rolling eyes because at least one person has to be like “THEYRE ALL INVERTED DEVIL WORSHIPPERS‼️‼️😭😳💔🤫”
Never have I ever experienced that with kpop stans like ever all these years. Why😭
