The last kpop concert i attended was kcon LA 2016. (the best lineup ever, if you ask me)
After 2016, i just completely stopped listening to kpop. I’ve been to the weeknd concert, kendrick lamar, Sza, as well as huge EDM raves & none of them even come close to the type of manners and respect kpop fans have at concerts.
I was at GD’s concert last night and the people infront of me kept looking back at me and making sure they’re not blocking my view. (Even though these were inclined seatings lol)
It also felt like they kept making sure I was having fun because they noticed I was alone. They would often turn around and say things like “Its so fun omg😆” and honestly these small gestures meant a lot to me since it was my first Kpop concert after almost a decade. and my first time ever going to a concert alone.
And i completely forgot about freebies at kpop concerts lol so many people randomly walked up to me and asked if i wanted a freebie. THIS DOESNT HAPPEN AT NON KPOP CONCERTS 😭😭😭😭😭
I’m korean but i still had a culture shock. Kpop community culture shock. Im used to seeing people being angry drunks, fighting over not saying ‘excuse me’ and sometimes even physical fights at U.S artist concerts LMFAO
