Was all beef in Korea 한우 back in the 80s/90s?

I grew up in Korea in the 80s and 90s before moving to the States, so this is a random question I’ve had. I remember beef was a massive delicacy because I presume it was super expensive. I only recall being able to buy it in 정육점 in 시장, and we simply rarely ate it. And I’d say we were solidly middle class-ish. If we did it was maybe a cheaper cut made into 불고기 or part of 된장찌게. Just grilling beef at home OR going out to eat it was very rare.

Did Korea have beef imports back then? Or was it all just domestic, hence limited supply and more expensive?

I do recall us eating more and more beef as the 90s did go on, like the frequency at which we could go out to have bbq was much more even in the mid 90s compared to the early 90s.
