Money rules the world. Being amazing is not enough.
If High-Up Entertainment were acquired by HYBE, STAYC would MAGICALLY gain more recognition and more fans.
People consume products from large companies like Coca-Cola. If Coca-Cola launches a terrible group, it will gain millions of followers in a few days. If Coca-Cola launches a soda that tastes like butt, it will sell millions whether it tastes good or bad. If it tastes bad, it will still go viral just because of the curiosity of trying a new Coca-Cola product.
It’s the same thing with Kpop groups. It’s a great shame for the industry that a relevant group like STAYC has never been to the famous “MAMA” Mnet awards. So many smaller, unsuccessful groups are only there because they belong to Mnet Or some giant company. Because you need money to put the group and the idols in those places.
STAYC released a true full album with 14 brand new, beautiful and mature songs. No “intro”, “outro”, “version”, “remix”, or songs that are only a minute and a half long. The physical album was better made than some albums by billionaire groups from the Big3.
Nobody listened, nobody cared. It wasn’t even NOMINATED for Album of the Year.
When STAYC’s composer, B.E.P, worked for JYP groups and other major companies, he won awards for best composer. With STAYC, he released at least 7 HITS that the whole world listens to and they did not receive the same recognition.
Pay attention to the official Kpop playlists on Spotify, etc. The playlist name refers to CURRENT songs that describe what Kpop is TODAY. There you will find: OLD irrelevant b-sides from big groups. 1 single and 3 b-sides from the same big3 group. When you search for STAYC, you’ll find a maximum of 2 singles, but usually it’s just their latest release. For a new K-pop listener, it makes more sense to discover “Poppy”, “so bad” or “asap” in this playlist.. than to discover an unsuccessful irrelevant B-SIDE track from a Big 4 group.
Anyway… unfortunately.. Money rules the world in all genres, styles, music, games…
It’s a miracle that STAYC is one of the TOP 10 best groups today because of their music, talent, and charisma.. and not because it belongs to the big 3 (“big 4”).

I really listen to all the old and current K-pop besides STAYC. I’m just criticizing the K-pop industry.
