Disclaimer: I’m not a fan of all Hybe groups, just some. My opinion of the groups i’m not fan of will be different from yours. It’s just my opinion as someone who checked them out sometimes and saw the tea here and there.
I think it’s (kinda) ridiculous/ironic when Hybe groups’ fandoms fight each other about “who’s the company’s least favorite”, “my fave succeed without Hybe’s help”, trying to one up each other about who’s the most organic, etc.
These groups are under different sublabels. Hybe provided operational support. The creative direction, day-to-day artists management, branding/marketing decision, and some other things are handled by the sublabels. Even the groups under the same sublabels are handled by different set of teams. Often the fandoms getting jealous of how the other groups are handled (which is okay). While anyone might argue about which sublabels is the best sucks the least, i think this is mostly case of “The grass is always greener on the other side”.
I dont claim to know how Hybe works, but i believe that all of these groups got support from Hybe. The scale might be different, but i think that’s reflect the group’s success. For example, if X group got no (fancy) brand deals after debut (but starting to get it once their career grow) compared to Y group (have more successful debut) who got brand deals not long after debut, it shouldn’t become “Hybe do nothing for my fave, this is the proof”. There’s also the US festivals gig, “my fave is invited bcs they’re talented, while Hybe got your fave that gig”, or “Hybe hate my fave bcs they gave the gig to X, Y, Z but not my fave”. There’s no balance in the convo about it.
There’s also the “Hybe fandoms hate my fave”, “my fave isn’t part of Hybe family”, or smth like that. All Hybe fandoms had said that at some point. Then who drive the bus?
All in all it’s interesting things to note.
