U.S.-based Apple took the top spot with a 20 percent share in 2025, up 2 percentage points from the previous year. Counterpoint Research said Samsung’s global smartphone shipments rose 5 percent in 2025 from a year earlier, without providing detailed figures, citing strong sales of the budget Galaxy A models. The researcher noted the premium Galaxy Fold 7 and the flagship Galaxy S25 also outperformed their predecessors. China’s Xiaomi ranked third with an 18 percent share, while Vivo Mobile Communication and OPPO Electronics each accounted for 8 percent, the researcher said.
