People being upset for ADP winning a daesang is justified – nepotism deserves criticism

Is it not uncommon for a new group to win a daesang? No it’s not.

Have ADP made an impact this year? They have yes, they seem to be on track to becoming successful artists. I think their few releases aren’t half bad either.

BUT, it is suspicious that they won, and it is especially suspicious that the members all looked towards Annie when it was announced.

I envy those who don’t see a problem with the nepotism that Annie brings to ADP, but it is absolutely justified for people to be outraged.

Annie is a part of a chaebol family, AKA the most powerful people in South Korea. Do you really think they are not able to pull some strings behind the scenes?

I think the biggest reason why I am so annoyed with this situation is because, eventhough the criticism is there, it’s not big enough.

Chaebol families already own pretty much the whole of South Korea’s economy, if fans keep on shrugging their shoulders when the kids of these people start to infiltrate the kpop scene, kpop companies are going to become a new breeding ground for these Chaebols.

While many of the actual art has been lost in kpop already due to kpop fans caring too much about visuals, when fans let this go, it’s going to start happening more and more.

Kpop companies care about one thing, which is money. Chaebols can provide that in ten times fold, so when the company doesn’t lose fans despite this, prepare for there to be groups made entirely of insanely wealthy kids (we’re already halfway there lol, most idols have been coming from rich families for almost a decade, Chaebol rich and powerful is something else though)
